Teaching is an important part of Matthew Szidik’s work with glass.
An experienced glassblowing instructor and demonstration artist, Matthew brings the same curiosity, energy and hands-on approach to teaching that shape his studio practice. His instruction balances strong technical foundations with experimentation—helping students understand the material, build confidence in the hot shop and find their own way of working with glass.
He works with a wide range of experience levels, from first encounters with hot glass to developing artists looking to push their technique further.

Matthew is available for teaching, demonstrations and visiting artist opportunities throughout the United States and internationally.
Engagements can range from glassblowing and flameworking workshops to technique-focused intensives, artist talks, public demonstrations, youth programs and collaborative studio sessions.
Each program can be shaped around the host studio, its facilities and the people taking part.
Whether it’s a weekend in the hot shop, a public demonstration or a program halfway around the world, Matthew is always interested in meeting new glass communities and sharing the process.
